Transferring Class Credit

MAke sure to see how the classes you took at your previous intitution will count toward your Clemson degree.  With an idea of what credits you already have you will be better able to plan your schedule and degree plan.  Check out the  Transfer Course Equivalency Lookup to see a list of all courses that have been evaluated for transfer credit previously.  If your course or school is not listed don't worry! The Office of Admissions will evaluate them by the time you are accepted so they will show up soon.

Majors

Without a doubt Clemson's majors and minors will vary from those offered at your previous institution.  Make sure you look through the majors to get familiar with the various options you will have here.  Each major will have different classes required of it.  With careful planning you  can ensure you set up your schedule each semester to graduate as planned with the major you want.  Here is the List of Majors at Clemson

Eportfolio

As part of Gen ed requirements, every student must compete and Eportfolio before graduation EVEN TRANSFERS.  You will essentially submit evidence of your mastery of each area that is a focus of general education.  At the end you will have a website that is a summary of all your general education, showing future employer's your diverse academic background. Here is a link to the Getting Started With Eportfolio page.  My advice would not to wait until the last minute before graduation.  If you upload your artifacts as you go along each year it will be much easier and you will avoid the rush around graduation time that happens each year.  This is the time not to procrastinate.

As a transfer you know your way around college and have likely already experienced most of what freshman are worried about.   Wherever you're coming from you should prepare yourself for the adjustment to Clemson before you get here so your transition will be problem free.  While your time here may be slightly shorter you are now a welcome member of the Clemson family.  Make sure you're ready to make the most out of it!
